Aprenderás a usar las conjunciones de propósito «to», «in order to» y «so that» para expresar el objetivo o la finalidad de una acción. Practicarás cómo aplicarlas en oraciones claras y correctas.

Sección 1: ¿Qué son las Conjunciones de Propósito?

Las conjunciones de propósito indican el motivo o la finalidad detrás de una acción. Responden a la pregunta «¿Para qué?».

Sección 2: Usos de «To», «In Order To» y «So That»

2.1 «To» (para)

Es la forma más simple y común para expresar propósito. Se usa antes de un verbo en infinitivo.

Estructura:

• Sujeto + Verbo + To + Verbo en infinitivo + Complemento

Ejemplos:

• I study to improve my English.
  (Estudio para mejorar mi inglés).
• She runs to stay healthy.
  (Ella corre para mantenerse saludable).

2.2 «In Order To» (para, con el fin de)

Se usa en contextos más formales y significa lo mismo que «to», pero añade énfasis.

Estructura:

• Sujeto + Verbo + In Order To + Verbo en infinitivo + Complemento

Ejemplos:

• He left early in order to catch the train.
  (Salió temprano para alcanzar el tren).
• She works hard in order to provide for her family.
  (Ella trabaja duro para mantener a su familia).

2.3 «So That» (para que)

Se usa para expresar el propósito de una acción, especialmente cuando el sujeto de la segunda cláusula es diferente.

Estructura:

• Sujeto + Verbo + So That + Sujeto + Verbo + Complemento

Ejemplos:

• I speak slowly so that everyone can understand me.
  (Hablo despacio para que todos puedan entenderme).
• She explained it again so that they wouldn’t be confused.
  (Ella lo explicó de nuevo para que ellos no se confundieran).
